If you are buying your medication as an independent pharmacist and haven’t been to a show yet we highly recommend it. For info on the show click here. Some of the key highlights you can pull from the show are:
- Continuing Education
Continuing Education: One of the main highlights of the event is the high quality continuing education you can receive. The continuing education is focused around four areas.
- Clinical services
- Revenue opportunities
- Business managment
- Pharmacy operations
If you want to become an immunizer this is a great place to do it, and with the recent Zika scare it could be a boon to the business. They offer a two hour workshop at the show, but there is a little leg work you need to do before hand so register at www.GoToCEI.org ahead of time to get the registration you need.
The trade show is a great place to network, check out our ebook on the subject below for more info.
This book talks about some great networking skills you can develop as a pharmacist to maximize your learning at these shows. You may also want to consider joining a buying group if you haven’t all ready. You give a little of your flexibility, but make up for it with higher rebates on the back end, and a little extra cashflow for the short term. They aren’t perfect for everyone, but you should listen to what they have to say if you’re not in one yet, and see if you would be a good fit.
There are a ton of awesome people at the ideaShare this year. There are over 150 independent exhibitors, some with two or three booths. Click here to check out who is going to be there and where they are at on the show floor. The quality of the booths here is higher than at the regional events, and a lot of times you get VP level or even C level corperate people here. Make sure you stop and chat up the booths a little more than your regional show, you will learn something here if you keep you mind open.
Yes, that is a big ass T-Rex. For the closing party you get to go see it, it is currently touring the country and will be on display in the heart of Chicago at the Field Museum. There is always awesome live entrainment and parties at these events as well, so pay attention to who is hosting gigs when and check it out!
We’re posting this a little before the event so you can get ready for the show, and do your leg work for the immunization cert if you don’t have it yet. Enjoy the event, and look for our C.E.O. Jon Tomin there, he will be going with Med on Time, one of our newest clients. Jon is always willing to talk to independent pharmacy owners looking for advise on improving marketing.
